The barn
Although two vats needed to be removed in the first years of the new century (the one showed below contained 11 hectolitres), because they were redundant and hid the beautiful stone wall (all the remaining vats are now in the cellar), the barn is now as it was in the XIXth c. In our area, as elsewhere, more often than not barns have become garages. If it was sad to destroy the vats because they could not be used anymore, it was wonderful to see the walls again as Émilie saw them.
The family and friends of La Tartugo wish to express their thanks to the friends and neighbours who helped restore the room to its former state. Meetings are held there regularly.
The barn is both a useful and a beautiful room, at the same time an important element of the Turle patrimony and an unofficial cultural and social venue. In a corner, one can still see the trough for the horses and on the other side the narrow ladder that leads to the attic. Probably, though, the most interesting features are the beams and, particularly, the 'signatures' of the workers who made them : these would have been the convicts of the famed penal colony in the nearby port of Toulon, who specialized in masts for the navy ; they were described by Victor Hugo in Choses vues and immortalized by him in Les Misérables.
La remise revient sur les différents passés économiques du lieu, avec des espaces (épicerie, bouchonnerie, vin), complété au fur et à mesure, repensé, valorisé. C'est aussi un lieu privilégié pour une animation culturelle (conférence, musique).

Le grenier
Dans les années 1980, il fallut quarante camions pour vider le grenier (au-dessus de la remise) de son foin et d'autres témoins d'une ère révolue. Il est arrivé, depuis, que s'y déroule aussi un récital en toute intimité (Ci-dessous) Le premier alto de l'Orchestre National de Lille, Paul Mayes.
Le potentiel de ce lieu serait plus adéquat en lieu de partage, de résidence, c'est dans cet esprit que des travaux vont être menés exclusivement en ressources locales, pour d'une part étanchéifier le toit, réparer le plancher qui s'effondre, et enfin, pouvoir investir cette partie de la propriété dévolue, pour le moment, aux cartons prenant l'eau.
